LIEBSTER award

Unbenannt #8

Unbenannt #8 von rebeccaroses auf Polyvore

I've been nominated by Niamh Blogs, Lauren Elizabeth and Denise Whelan to do the LIEBSTER award (thx again!). Obviously I'm only going to do one of them, so I've decided to go with Niamh's questions, since she was the first one to nominate me and on top of that, she's a blogger, too. :)

The rules are:
1. To link the person who nominated you
2. Answer the questions they have asked you
3. Nominate 11 other bloggers (must have less than 200 followers)
4. Create 11 new questions for your nominees
5. Notify the nominees by social media or blogs

Niamh's questions:

1. Why did you start blogging?
I love everything that has to do with beauty, fashion, health and fitness, which my blog basically is all about. Having a blog is just amazing for being creative, showing people who you are and what you're interested in and all in all just having fun. I'm really happy I started blogging! I love it!

2. Favourite Make-up product and why?
My favourite make-up product would have to be mascara, because it just makes such a difference to your face. It basically just intensifies the whole look.

3. Book most recently read/reading?
The last book I read was "The fault in our stars" and I loved it... and the movie, too (of course!). It is sooo sad, though...
I wish I could read more, but at the moment I'm studying for my final exams, so I just don't have the time.

4. Where do you want to visit the most in the world?
My Nr.1 place I want to visit is definitely New York and I'm sooo excited, because I'm going there in march with my family. I can't wait! (Of course I'll be taking a ton of pictures!)

5. What's your way of relaxing when stressed or tired?
Either going outside for a walk or doing Yoga. I love Yoga and Pilates, especially the way I feel after the "workout".

6. What is your favourite phone app?
At the moment I've been loving Pinterest (my profile:), but if I had to choose my all-time favourite it would have to be Whatsapp for sure.

7. What do you see yourself doing in 10 years time?
In 10 years time, I'll be 28 years old (that sounds so crazy to me!). I guess, I see myself working in a PR firm, since Public Relations is the direction I'm striving for. I would also like to be in a relationship or even married, omg I don't know...lol

8. What is your favourite quote?

What you think,
you become
What you feel,
you attract
What you imagine,
you create

-BUDDHA

9. If you were the main character in a movie which actress would you want to play your role?
I would choose Leighton Meester, because I love her so much as Blair Waldorf in gossip girl and it would be amazing to see her play my role. :)

10. Tumblr/Instagram/Twitter? If not any why?
Instagram!!! (no explanation needed)

11. What or who inspired your blog?
A lot of people/blogs inspired me. I especially love Lauren Conrad's and the Beautycrush's blog, even though they are so different.

I am going to nominate:

My questions to the nominees:
1. What are your New Year's Resolutions?
2. What are you wearing right now?
3. Favourite Makeup brand and why?
4. Do you prefer Lush or The Body Shop?
5. What is your favourite season and why?
6. Favourite song at the moment?
7. Ice Cream or Frozen Yoghurt?
8. Where do you get inspiration for your blog?
9. Favourite clothing store?
10. What phone app do you use the most?
11. What is your favourite movie?

My Top 5 Favourite Nail Polishes

Nailpolish

Since I've been really busy lately studying for my final exams, I thought I'd just do a little blog post.
These are my favourite nail polishes of all time:

1. Essie: Mint Candy Apple
I love the colour mint, especially on the nails. Usually I wear neutral clothing (...mostly black), so I love the pop of colour that this nail polish gives. In my opinion this is the best mint nail polish out there!

2. Butter London: Saucy Jack
My go-to nail polish will forever be a dark red one. You just can't go wrong with red nail polish. I especially love this colour for going out at night.

3. Essie: Bahama Mama
This for me is just the perfect fall colour. I love how it's different from any other nail polish I own. If you're looking for slightly something different, definitely check this one out!

4. Essie: Sand Tropez
I love how this nail polish is so simple, yet still an eye catcher. It just looks so clean and can one say polished...? :D

5. Butter London: Teddy Girl
This is my go-to pink nail polish. Actually I don't really like wearing pink nailpolish, but this one is just so pretty and doesn't draw too much attention to it, like other ones would.

Unbenannt #11

Actually I wanted to do photos of all of them, wearing them on my nails, but I just didn't have time. I'm really sorry! Fortunately, I'll have plenty of time soon.

My Winter Essentials

My Winter Essentials

My Winter Essentials by rebeccaroses featuring a grey knit beanie

1. BURT'S BEES: Beeswax Lip Balm
A lip balm in general is an essential during the winter-time to prevent your lips from chapping. My lips always get really dry, because of the cold weather. I can really recommend the brand BURT'S BEES. In my opinion their lip balms really moisturise the lips and doesn't only sits on them.

2. ESSIE: skirting the issue
I love red nails, but during the winter, I especially love dark red nailpolish! This one is from Essie and the quality of it is great. Most of the nail polishes I own are from Essie, because you definitely get your money's worth.

3. UGG Australia: Classic Tall Suede Boots
Ugg's are my go-to boots during this season. They are just so comfortable to walk in and they keep your feet nice and warm. I'm aware, that not everyone likes them... :D

4. Forever 21: Classic Knit Beanie
I wear beanies, not only during winter, but also in autumn. I love combining them with flannel shirts and a pair of jeans. It creates just such a nice and casual look and even though it's so simple, it still looks very put together and fashionable.

5. Soap&Glory: Handfood
If you're on the look for a good handcreme, definitely go check out this one from Soap&Glory! It is amazing and of course it's a staple of mine during the cold season!

6. THE BODY SHOP: Glazed Apple Body Butter
Currently, I'm actually using a different body butter, but I thought I'd still mention a body butter from the body shop, since they are my favourite ones. This one is even dedicated to the holidays.

7. Basic Scarf
Sorry that I dont't have a brand for this category, but I still wanted to mention scarves as one of my must-haves, because I wear them literally everyday in the winter-time. I get cold so easily, so the thicker the scarf, the better!

8. Brooks Brothers: Fair Isle Crew Sooks
I own so many of these kind of socks. I don't know why, but they make me think of snow and christmas. I guess it's because of the pattern, which by the way I love patterns like these, especially on socks and especially during... yes, you guessed it.... the winter-time! :)

I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. Feel free to comment suggestions or requests on what you want to see (or read) from me in the future! :)

50 Random Facts About Me TAG

Since I haven't been blogging for very long (not even a week :D) I thought it might be a good idea if you got to know me a little better. So here are 50 random facts about me:

1. I was born and raised in Germany. I live near Munich and I love my hometown!

2. My mum is English and my dad is from Switzerland. Don't ask me how we ended up in German.

3. I'm totally addicted to series. My favourite series of all time are Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives, The Vampire Diaries, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. Sorry, but I couldn't narrow it down anymore!

4. I have a dog, her name is Chelsea and she is a golden retriever. I love her so much!

5. If i could, i would eat pasta every day. No joke! I love it so much, I wouldn't even get bored of it.

6. I have two younger sisters and we all look very similar. Sometimes, we even get asked if we are twins, even though Tessa is 16 and Sara 14 (with twins I mean Tessa and me).

7. Oh, and by the way I'm 18 years old.

8. I used to be obsessed with the Harry Potter books in elementary school and of course I have seen all the movies and I even want to go and see the Harry Potter exhibition in London one day. I heard it should be really good. I guess I'll always like Harry Potter, but I'm definitely not obsessed anymore...

9. Now my favourite books are from the trilogy "The girl with the dragon tattoo", written by Stieg Larsson. I've already read all of the books and I've seen the Hollywood movie, but I really want to watch the Swedish movies, since I've heard that they should be so much better. My favourite character is defininetly Lisbeth Salander!

10. I've just started studying in October, but unfortunately I can't say what I'm studying, because it is very specific. There are only 3 studies that exist in Germany, which are similar to what I'm studying...

11. I hate horror films, but I love haunted houses. Trust me, I don't understand it either! The first time I went into a haunted house was when I was 16 years old and I was so afraid that I even ran out of it again. This was actually really embarrassing! Somehow my best friend managed to persuade me into going into more haunted houses and I'm not quite sure how (maybe cause to the adrenaline) I became sort of addicted... so now I love haunted houses... but I still hate horror films!

12. I have really light freckles, but because of my makeup you can't really see them.

13. My favourite city is Barcelona. I just love the Spanish culture and the language. I visited Barcelona 2 or 3 times, I'm not quite sure. I'm also really inclined to go visit Madrid one day!

14. I'm pretty tall. I'm 1,78 m or 5ft10. As I was younger I wanted to be shorter, but now I'm very confident with my height.

15. Lately I've been loving Drake's album "Nothing Was the Same" and yes, I know I'm late on this.

16. My hair is always completely straight. People often ask me, if I straighten my hair, but I basically just blow-dry it every morning after I get out of the shower.

17. My two favourite movies of all time are "Django Unchained" and "Blood Diamond". If you haven't watched them yet, go watch them now! :)

18. I don't ever drink coffee. Sometimes when I meet up with friends for coffee, I'll have a cappuchino, but only with a lot of sugar, otherwise it would taste far too strong. That is why, I have decided to just stay away from coffee... I really don't need it, especially not if I put tons of sugar in it!

19. My absolute favourite clothing store is ZARA!

20. For some weird reason I don't like a lot of fruits, such as pineapples, grapefruit, oranges... and I absolutely hate bananas! I hate the smell, the consistency, just everything about them!

21. My first pet I ever had was a guinea pig named Caty.

22. My biggest fear are snakes. I don't even know what I would do, if I ever saw one in real life... Weirdly enough I'm not that afraid of spiders, like pretty much everyone else.

23. The only concert I ever went to, was a Beyoncé concert and I was around 12 years old. I used to love all her songs back then and I also was a fan of Destiny's Child.

24. Dark Red is my favourite colour.

25. I am not sure if my hair is dark blond or light brown. Everyone tells me something else... but in my opinion I'm a brunette. :)

26. I'm hardly ever on time, but I'm working on it! My goal this year is to always be as punctual as possible and so far I've stuck to it.

27. I have never been to a festival in my life, but I would love to go to Tomorrowland one day, I mean who wouldn't.

28. Roses are my favourite kind of flowers (who would've thought...)

29. I really want to swim with dolphins one day. That is definitely one thing, that's on my bucket list!

30. My second name is Isobel, which is also my mum's name.

31. I don't have any tattoos, nor do I plan on getting any, even though I like tattoos. I just know that if I ever was to get one, I would end up hating and regretting it some day...

32. I always carry a bottle of water with me.

33. I love macarons! My favourite is the pistachio one. :)

34. I'm a really bad driver. I even failed my driving test twice...

35. I mostly wear a light pink lipstick or lipbalm. I don't think I ever wore red lipstick in public. I don't know why, but I just don't think it suits me. I do think it looks great on other people, though.

36. I love Victoria's Secret sents. In my opinion they smell very different (in a good way obviously), compared to all the other parfumes. My absolute favourite sent is "VS Bombshell".

37. I can speak German, English, French (medium) and a bit of Spanish.

38. I always have to wear a lipbalm.

39. I did a language study travel for 3 weeks in Nice. I had to live together with 13 other girls from all around the world (Mexico, Columbia, Norway, Switzerland,...) and it was one of the best experiences in my life. I would recommend it to everyone!

40. I love UGGs. I'm perfectly aware of not everyone liking them, but they are just sooo comfortable and personally I do find them to look good on me.

41. For some odd reason, I love rain and snow. Don't get me wrong I like summer and sun, too, but I think I'm more of an autumn and winter person.

42. I can't apply false lashes and I don't think I'll ever be able to. I'd rather just stick to mascara (which I do)!

43. I had braces for over 2 years and I was 13 years old, as I first got them. I'm so happy I had braces, otherwise I'd still have a gap between my two front teeth.

44. I went on the seventh-highest water slide (21m) in the world (Aqua Parc at Largo di Garda in Italy), as I was about 14 years old. I don't even think I was that nervous or even afraid back then, but I could never do something like that again... I would be too afraid!

45. I still love roller coasters, though.

46. I'm definitely more of an introverted person. I don't open myself up to a lot of people.

47. I never curl my hair, because my hair is too straight to even hold the one. None the less, I love curly hair!

48. I started wearing makeup as I was 14 years old. I did some BIG mistakes back then, such as foundation on my lips, too much blush on my cheeks or very heavy eyeliner... I've done it all! :D

49. I've been doing exercise every morning for about two weeks now. This is CRAZY for me, but I definitely feel so much better and energised than I used to!

50. I'm obsessed with green tea. I have to have it at least once a day.

I think I've written enaugh... :)

5 tips to get HEALTHY!

 Unbenannt #4

Since I mentioned in my latest blog post, that I want to try to live a healthier lifestyle this year, I thought that it was only appropriate to dedicate this blog post towards this topic.
I will show you 5 simple tips to kick-start your HEALTHY lifestyle!

1. EAT CLEAN

Always check the ingredients before purchasing a product! The less ingredients a product contains, the better and if you don't even know what the ingredients are, why even eat it?
The goal is to eat as unprocessed as possible. Processed foods are for example bread, pasta and rice. If you don't want to cut them out completely, try going for the whole wheat version. It will still make a difference. But if you are really trying to loose weight I would cut them out completely.
Of course any type of sweets shouldn't be part of your diet, but I think that point is self explanatory. Occasionally it is perfectly fine to treat yourself and have that burger or that ice cream, but if you decide to have this "cheat meal", just don't overdo it and of course don't do it to often. I treat myself, too. Everyone does :).
Instead of eating processed food, which is really not doing your body any good, just try eating more fruits and veggies. It will do wonders for your body!

2. DRINK MORE WATER

Needless to say, water is great for you! Not only does it hydrate you, but it also detoxifies your body and gets rid of all the toxins.
Try to stay away from sodas, juices, hot chocolates, etc. These kind of drinks are just not good for you and they contain a lot of empty calories. If you find it boring to just stick to water, try mixing some fruits in (raspberries, lemons,...) or drink tea. There are so many different types of teas, which all have different benefits for your body!
Try drinking 2-3l a day. This is the amount you need to stay hydrated.
It might be difficult at the beginning, but once you have turned it into a habbit, it will be so easy for you. And we all know, once it's a habbit, it is very difficult to get rid of it. :)

3. EXERCISE DAILY (....or 3-4 days a week :D)

Our bodies were made to move. You won't loose any weight, if you don't exercise. Well, maybe you will, but only for a short amount of time and of course everyone wants to maintain their weight after having achieved their "dream body".
In general it is just so important to be active, to get the heart rate up and to basically just "have a sweat" once in a while.
I like to go jogging or do workouts at home. I don't even have a gym membership and you don't particularly need one either. You can also just go for walks, if you really don't like to work out. It doesn't really matter what you do, as long as you're doing something.

4. EAT EVERY 3-4 HOURS

Having meals more frequently will keep your metabolism going, causing you to burn more calories, compared to only eating three times a day. This aspect kind of goes hand in hand with the last aspect. So do keep in mind that the portions have to be smaller! :D
I have tried eating like this for quite some time now and in my opinion it definitely works. It keeps me full and satisfied and you realise that you really don't need the amount of food you used to. But keep in mind this primarily works if you're eating healthy. Unhealthy foods (fastfood, pizza,...) won't satisfy you, because your body isn't getting the nutrients it needs.

5. SMALLER PORTIONS

When you eat 5-6 times a day, you will definently have to cut the size of your portions and you won't even need to eat the amount that you used to. Although, I do recommend doing this change slowly, because otherwise it won't last. For example, instead of doing all of these tips at once, just keep eating the same amount of food, but eat healthy. You will soon notice that you get full much sooner and you will cut down on the portion size automatically. Just try it! :)

These are all my tips, that I will be showing you in this blog post. If you are interested in more blog posts, which deal with being healthy or staying fit, just let me know!

Hello 2015!

 Unbenannt #5

Since this is my very first blog post, I first of all wanted to introduce myself. My name is Rebecca, but most of the people I know call me Becci (that's how you actually write it haha). I'm from Germany, but I decided to blog in English, so I apologize in advance for any mistakes I might make in the future (or already have made :/).

To start a blog was actually one of my New Year's Resolutions. So here I am :). I love fashion, beauty and health. So these will be the main topics I'll be blogging about. If you have any suggestions or
requests, I'd love to hear them!

I am very excited about 2015 and of course just like almost every one else I have plans for this new year I hope to pursue:
  1. Start a blog (kinda fulfilled it I guess :D)
  2. Get healthy and fit (I don't have a weight problem at all, but in my opinion there is always room for improvement)
  3. Book my trip to Florida (still uncertain, but I guess I'll keep you updated haha)
  4. Study more (I started my studies last year in October and I really want to do my very best! So far I'm really enjoying it and I'm pretty much 100% positive I made the right choice)
This is everything I wanted to address in my first blog post, I think... :D.
I am very excited that I finally created my own blog and in general I'm just so excited to see what will happen in 2015! :)

Rebecca Roses
